New Month Thanksgiving on Awake the Dawn
Psalms 126:1-3
When the lord brought back the captivity of Zion we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, the lord has done great things for them. The lord has done great things for us and we are glad.
Psalm 137: 6
If I forget you O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you let my "tongue cling to the root of my mouth"
PRAYER: Father this is the joy we've come to express before you today. It has been a most peculiar year with a lot of unprecedented economic, health, sociopolitical and financial upheavals. There were fears within and without. We were on the brink of losing our very lives. Worry escalated over our children and their future as we became prisoners in our own houses. We were no match for the army of viruses unleashed against the world by the kingdom of darkness. They held the world captive as we became almost defenceless against them. But at your own appointed time, lord, you arose on the behalf of your children. You said to the wind "peace be still". This morning you usher us into the last month of the year. It is a marvelous deed in our eyes. We have come to pour our praise on you. For at a time we wondered if we would see the next day yet today we are seeing even the last month of the year 2020. Captivity of Satan's stronghold did not find anything on us because you watch over us. Thank you for being our ever present help in time of need. As we sing of your "Excess love" today, we pray that this unquantified love will also see us to the end of the month. Thank you for loving us so much. Glory to your name forever in the name of Christ Jesus our living saviour we pray. Amen!
