VERSE OF THE DAY FOR OCTOBER 10, 2020

Today's verse for memorization and meditation and is taken from Micah 6:8

"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the lord require of you but to do justly. To love mercy and to walk humbly with your God"

Thoughts on Today's Verse

Proverbs 21:2 tells us that every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the lord weighs the heart". Many of us when we come to Christ do not really take time to count the cost of our discipleship, before long some begin to pursue after worrisome trends in their bid to serve God. Sometimes, we find ourselves pursuing the areas of service in which we are gifted more than others. But God wants us to have a a holistic Christian life. Here  he gives us the foundation; do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before your God. God is merciful, he did not leave us to grope in the dark. He specifically tells us what he would have us do and whom he would rather that we become.

Jesus said no one is good except the father. Therefore, if God  has shown us what is good, he can't  be talking about anything else other than himself. God is good and perfect. He  epitomized justice, mercy and humility when he took flesh and became man in the second Adam JESUS. Do you want to live right? Then look upon that man who died on the cross. He was himself the king of glory, yet he suffered and died the shameful death of the cross. as you live, therefore remember to live only the way he lived for him has God set forth as the image that we all must bear if we would bear his name on our crest on that day.

For he is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation. (1Corinthians 15:49) and we all with unveiled faces beholding as in a mirror the glory of the lord are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as by the spirit of God (2 Corinthians 3:18). Therefore, as we have all borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly man (1Corinthians 15:49). We can  only imitate Christ when we know him, and what better way to know him than to get into the revelation of his person according to the written word of the scriptures. Plunge deeper into the word today and always to become that man/ woman God requires you to be.
