Today's verse for meditation and memorization is Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, who are the called according to his purpose.

Thoughts on today's verse

Romans 8:28 is one of the most popular verses in the Bible. It is also one of the most heart warming delivery of the tenets of the Christian faith attesting to God's sovereignty. Sadly, it is often misunderstood and quoted for the wrong reason. The message of the verse is that God will work out his purpose for our lives through any situation, good or bad on the condition that we love the Him. In other words, this message presumes that we are God lovers. We are among the called, the elect, the redeemed. If we haven't been washed and cleansed by Christ' precious blood, nor have we formed a healthy relationship with him through the holy spirit, the  promise is not for us. All things working together for our good means that even if we are to face trials, tribulations, uncertainties and terrible unpalatable situations, God's promised that he would use those ugly situations to our good. The best good he can do us obviously, is to draw us closer to himself. So, no matter what life may throw at you child of God, trust that God knows about it and that he is turning it around for good.

PRAYER: Father, your love for us is perfect. You have made us a mind blowing promise today. No matter what situation might come our way, you've got our backs. Grant us O lord the grace to accept your predestination over our lives and cease to try to fix everything. We pray for understanding hearts to know that you love us beyond our suffering and you will always turn them around for our good because we love you. Thank you for this wondrous love, in  Jesus name, Amen.
