VERSE OF THE DAY FOR AUGUST 26, 2020
Today's bible verse for memorization and meditation is Jeremiah 31:25
"For I have satiated the weary soul and I have replenished every sorrowful soul"
Thoughts on Today's verse
Our God is the merciful and covenant keeping God. He does not forget his promise in a Hurry. Many years of hurting and separation from him does not make him to forget what he's promised to his children. In this book of Jeremiah, we see God challenging the children of Israel by spelling out doom upon doom on them because of their failure to adhere to the precepts that he has given them. Yet in this verse he relents and promises healing to the weary and refreshment to the sorrowful. The lord wishes above all things that it shall be well with us and that we remain in health, physically and spiritually. In John 4:14, Jesus brings this point home when he said but whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. When we come to Jesus, we step into the father's rest and as we drink from his table and eat from the abundance he provides daily in his word through the spirit, we remain refreshed and reinvigorated unto every good work.
PRAYER: Precious father, thank you so much for your faithfulness in this journey. Often we fail but your faithfulness keeps us going. Grant us grace to trust that you will never leave us famished. Amen!
Ameen. .
