Today's Verse for meditation and memorization is 1Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God and one mediator between men and God, the man Christ Jesus,  who gave himself a ransom for all,to be testified in due time

Thoughts on Today's Verse

Many religions claim to have superior powers and other ways of getting close to God. Some lay claim to good deeds while others advocate self discipline, alms giving, charity and other kinds of ritualistic observations. But this portion of the scripture is explicit on who the go between is,between man and God. He is none other than the man JESUS. God set him forth to be the propitiation and blood of atonement for the sin of the whole world. In Acts 4:12 Peter declared it, "there is  therefore, no other name given among men by which we must be saved. John the baptist in John 1:36 said of him "behold  the lamb of God". He is the eternal blood that was shed from the foundation of the world. Are you still trusting in your good works, piety, religious activities to reconcile you with God?  Only one man has received that mandate and honour from God and his name is Jesus. He promised that as many as believe in him he will give the power to become children of God (John1:12).

Come to him today repent of your sins by confessing and forsaking them, he will reconcile you with God.

PRAYER: father  we thank you for your love which made you to give up Jesus, your only begotten son to die for our sins. As the scripture has declared that this shall be testified in due time, we pray that all the world will get to know what Jesus has done for them and accept him as their lord and personal saviour.
