If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit (KJV)

 

 since we are living by the spirit, let us follow the spirit's leading in every part of our lives (NLT)

Thought on Today's Verse

When we come to Christ and receive the new life, we become new people in our spirit man. Our lives are no longer lived to satisfy every desire of our sinful flesh. Our human nature begins to loose its hold over us because we have received a greater power.  So now, we are free from all the stringent demands of the law because we are free from the bondage and oppression of sin. This does not mean that we are free to do as we like. Paul makes it clear in this verse that to benefit most from this new relationship with the holy spirit, we have to say yes to His leading in every area of our lives. We are not robots so God does not demand automatic obedience. Our choice making ability is involved, hence,  it takes total, complete, step by step, moment by moment yielding to walk in the spirit.

PRAYER: father, your loving nature made you to impart me with your divine nature. I'm no longer a slave to sin, rather I've received a greater power that overcomes sin. Grant me the willingness to appreciate this relationship you've given me with your spirit and seek to align my will to his every bidding, through Christ Jesus, Amen.
